TENPOINTCROSSBOWS.COM: A BETTER WEB EXPERIENCE
Visit the TenPoint Website
TRIAD and longtime partner TenPoint Crossbow Technologies recently launched a new website utilizing the latest technology-driven CSS web standard software. Using a variety of new database elements developed in ASP scripting, the new site is optimized for easy access by search engines.

The website incorporates a fresh new look and contains many new features that will better educate the crossbow consumer. Detailed charts, grids, guides and PDFs are easily accessed to compare a crossbow and its features.

Other features include an improved “Dealer Locator” with map-links and driving instructions, a new secure online shopping cart option, a page where the user can select and download desktop backgrounds and a high-tech integrated message board whereby sportsmen can interact with one another and with the TenPoint staff.

Finally, in the new “Contact Us” section, the customer can arrange for crossbow service, register warranty information, and direct e-mails to TenPoint.

“Our new site is the best in the industry,” says Rick Bednar, TenPoint’s Chief Operating Officer. “Because it contains so much information and allows the consumer to do so much on their own, it will also reduce our telephone load and make us more accessible to customers during our busiest season.”

PICTURE THIS: A DIGITAL DILEMMA
While many understaffed communications & marketing departments are overwhelmed with the responsibilities inherent in those roles, many professionals are being asked to do more with less. One such area is photography and the following scenario is being played out everyday in many business settings.

Question:
My boss just provided me with a digital camera to shoot photography for our company newsletter. What setting should I use to provide the best quality resolution for print reproduction? HELP!

Solution:
If you are one of many people who are providing digital photography for your company’s printed communications, here are some basic tips:

Digital Camera Digital cameras come in many different megapixel sizes (2.0 to 6.0) and have many different flash card sizes (64 MB to 4 GB) so we suggest using the camera setting that allows you to shoot the least amount of photos on your storage flash card that ensures the highest resolution photo.

Most of us are accustomed to buying 35mm film based on the number of exposures it would hold-- so we expect to purchase "digital film" the same way. Unfortunately, it's difficult to predict exactly how many photos you can fit on a flash card. That's because the file size for one photo depends on a number of different factors like resolution, compression, colors, shooting conditions and the camera model. By default, most digital cameras will use the highest possible resolution with the best possible image quality. While this produces the best possible photos, it also means each image takes up more space on the flash memory card, decreasing the number of images you can save on your card.

BRANDING - IN A 30-SECOND SNAPSHOT...
30-second elevator speechTRIAD staffers are frequently asked what a company or organization can do to help brand themselves better. Although most people think of branding as an external communications function, it is equally important to brand your organization internally, working from “the inside out”. One simple strategy is to make sure that everyone in your organization has a clear understanding of who the organization is and what they do. More than your mission or vision— it is your “30-second elevator speech” that succinctly communicates your business to others. There are even some branding gurus out there who like to whittle it all down to one or two words. Either way, the most effective branding often takes place with those employees who represent your organization in public business or social settings. So take a moment and make sure that your employees know your “30-second pitch”... and you’ll be on your way to better branding.
