HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Watch our Holiday Video - Click Here
Believe it or not Jingle Bells, one of the most famous American Christmas songs, was originally written for Thanksgiving! The author and composer of Jingle Bells was a minister named James Pierpoint who composed the song in 1857 for children celebrating his Boston Sunday School Thanksgiving. The song was so popular that it was repeated at Christmas, and indeed Jingle Bells has been reprised ever since. To watch our holiday video card, click here. DIAL “C” for COURTESY

DIAL “C” for COURTESYWhether you use a speakerphone or three-way calling, it’s common business courtesy to notify your caller that they are on a speakerphone and to identify other “listeners” who may be present in the room. It can be disconcerting when there's no need for use of a speakerphone and a private connection will assure that the conversation is intended only for the person who is called. A private connection makes good business sense as well, because a speakerphone may appear as though you are too busy to devote full attention to the person on the phone with you. Finally, the speakerphone might give the impression of laziness– which is a tag nobody wants. For more information, go to www.advancedetiquette.com

RING-A-LING-A-LING
WEDDING BLISS FOR TRIAD EMPLOYEEBells were ringing--- but they weren't "jingle bells." In what is being labeled a TRIAD “first”, an office romance blossomed into marriage this past fall with senior graphic designer, Jeff Schrader tying the knot with Vanessa Butler. Vanessa, now a graphic designer with the Cuyahoga County Public Library and Jeff were married Oct. 15th, followed by an extended honeymoon in Italy. According to vault.com, almost 50% of employees have been romantically tied to someone from the office– and many more would like to find amour in a neighboring cubicle. Some employers discourage such office romances for obvious reasons, but with people devoting more time to business, it’s inevitable that office romance is bound to happen if you have people sharing common interests (work) and extended time together. Add in physical attraction– and it’s a perfect match.

RELISH THIS...
Here’s a simple recipe that’ll add some sparkle and a bright fresh flavor to your holiday meal:

(1) 12-ounce bag fresh cranberries
(2) small, thin skinned oranges
1-1/2 cups of sugar
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

WASH and drain cranberries. Pick out any stems or squished berries. Wash skins of oranges. Cut off both ends of the oranges and discard. Cut oranges into quarters leaving the peels on. Pick out any seeds and cut away any large white stems from the middle.

PUT half the berries and orange pieces in a food processor. Pulse until ground. Scrape into a bowl. Place the remaining orange pieces in the food processor and pulse until ground. Add remaining berries and pulse a couple times so there are still whole berries. Add to the pureed fruit.

STIR in sugar and pecans. Taste and add more sugar if necessary (flavor should be a bit tart.) Makes about 3 cups. Refrigerate until ready to use. Can be made 24 hours in advance.
