There’s No Treatment for Bad Viral Marketing

Viral MarketingViral Marketing refers to marketing methods that use social networking sites to help create brand awareness. Often, viral marketing campaigns can have a 500-1000 times greater impact than traditional advertisements. However, when done incorrectly, as with GM’s create your own commercial campaign http://reviews.cnet.com/4531-10921_7-6482404.html, viral marketing can have damaging results. It’s important to remember with viral marketing, the idea is not to promote your product or service, as with traditional marketing campaigns, but rather tell an exciting or unexpected story. A great example would be Honda’s chain reaction commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcr6ZIVi-Vg. If you’re interested in developing a viral marketing campaign for your product or service, contact Art Director Scott Kessler at scott.kessler@triadadv.com

In England, the purpose was to salute apple trees in the dead of winter to insure a good crop for the coming year.
