Jump on the "Brand"Wagon!
BrandwagonOn Wednesday, April 7th, 2010, TRIAD President, Rick Krochka, spoke to the Akron Area Arts Alliance at their quarterly luncheon meeting. His speech about the importance of creating a strong brand was titled: Jump on the "Brand"wagon! Download the speech here and read how getting back to the basics and taking a look at your brand is the one thing that everyone CAN (and should) do. It is WHO you are - and in a cluttered marketplace, knowing WHO you are (and who you aren't) can help make those marketing and advertising decisions a whole lot easier.

Your Social Life in a Nutshell...
TRIAD News InfusedIf you're like me, you're having trouble finding the time to keep up with your social networks. Well you can stop pulling your hair out now! Constant Contact has rolled out a new service called Nutshell Mail. Nutshell Mail brings together your social media accounts and emails you with a summary with updates. Richie just built a new fence in Farmville? Great! Joanie just tweeted about her cat's new outfit? Awesome! Nutshell Mail delivers all of these exciting updates to your mailbox in a single email.

Nutshell Mail is a free service and it is compatible with Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, and (yes, it still exists) MySpace. You can set the frequency of how often you receive the email and can post comments, update your status, and tweet right from that email.

John ScaleI can't help but wonder, if Nutshell Mail was available 3 years ago, how much hair would I still have?!

I Scream, You Scream...
Ice CreamSummertime means ice cream! Looking for some ultra creamy, delicious chocolate and vanilla options? ConsumerReports.org tested 13 vanilla and 11 chocolate ice creams. Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Bean and Ben & Jerry's topped the list of vanillas and among the excellent chocolates, testers found Archer Farms Belgian Chocolate, Häagen-Dazs Five Milk Chocolate and Haagen-Dazs regular chocolate to be their favorites. Of course the tastier ice creams also had the most fat content, so choose wisely when it comes to your summertime treats!

TRIAD "Best" Friends are Winners, too!
Akron Life & Leisure Magazines July issue features Akron's Best of the City listings and, undoubtedly, many of TRIAD's friends have won in several categories. We congratulate all of the winners! Now if only there was a "Best Advertising, Marketing and Interactive" category?
Does Print Grow Trees?
Print Grows TressAlthough the extraordinary growth of on-line publications has dramatically affected the print industry, there are still a number of companies and organizations who recognize that their audience prefer a printed document -- be it a newspaper or an annual report -- for obtaining the information they need. We often hear the phrase "think before you print" in an effort to reduce waste and save trees. However, without the demand for these products, the landowners tend to harvest their primary forestland for quick income and then sell the land instead of growing more trees, which contributes to deforestation.

Print on paper gives landowners a reason to grow trees, so maybe we need to "think before we DON'T print?"

Get Out & Give Back
Outdoor activitiesNortheast Ohio may give us bone-chilling temperatures, snow drifts the size of small children and unpredictable weather minute to minute - but it also gives us beautiful parks and nature trails. This summer, take advantage of our local park system and not only get out, but give back too. Many area organizations host running, biking and hiking events, whose proceeds go to different charities.

For information about these events visit events.ohio.com/akron-oh/events/running and www.zvents.com/akron-oh/events/bike.
