This role is responsible for the execution, management and success of design at TRIAD. We will rely on your honed skillset to create awesome branding, logos, ad campaigns, website layouts, signage, and anything you can throw a pixel at.

You must possess superior visual conceptual skills and a knowledge of media requirements/terminology and vendor requirements/ capabilities. The depth of the position demands qualifications developed over a minimum of five to ten years of related projects in both traditional and digital design plus additional supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Helps establish and maintain the highest possible standards of reproduction for all design, including print, web, video and collateral materials produced by the agency.
  • Monitors the quality of finished artwork and conceptual materials produced by internal and freelance artists.
  • May be asked to conduct/contribute to annual performance reviews for department subordinates.
  • Collaborates with Creative & Web VPs on department business, including all creative and technical issues and requirements (hardware and software needs, upgrades, training, etc.).
  • Encourages the professional development of department staff.
  • Ensures efficient visual execution of creative concepts
  • Consults with Creative & Web VPs, as well as copywriters, production, and account service personnel as necessary to achieve agency objectives.
  • Develops and implements marketing strategies using appropriately selected tools and platforms.
  • Observes agency consensus in the production of client presentation materials, either conceptual or finished art.
  • Examines and approves finished art and conceptual material, and supervises alterations and/or corrections.
  • Collaborates with Creative & Web VPs to maintain a list of available freelance artists, photographers and other contributory talent.
  • Recommends and directs freelance contributors.
  • Recommends and directs photographers and talent at photo sessions.
  • Oversees specification of typestyle/font, color, photography, illustration and paper stock; inspects and approves vendor pre-press and press proofs.
  • Provides press-side inspection of print runs by creative personnel when required (arranged in conjunction with the production department).
  • Engages in any personal development necessary to stay current in advertising techniques and standards, and research activity required to become more familiar with clients’ businesses.
  • Researches and presents project-related findings to develop long-term goals.
  • Meets established deadlines or provides reasonable notice to Creative & Web VPs of special circumstances requiring deadline extension. Schedule, create and manage project timelines and to-dos using project management apps.
  • Inventories any supplies related to the performance of design duties; notifies Creative & Web VPs of necessary reorders.
  • Works directly with the Client Services team to create strong marketing plans that meet client objectives, assisting or creating content and graphic visuals that achieve client goals.
  • Organizes client content and educates client on assets needed for job completion.
  • Creates client job reports as needed.

Qualifications

Great design skills are a must, along with an acute understanding of accurate communications, comprehension of subtle preferences, client politics and marcom strategies. Ability to write and format proposals and estimates for new business development. Should possess a working knowledge of the advertising business, its methodology and the ability to communicate it internally and externally as necessary. Familiarity with current industry trends and the ability to effectively manage the creative process and lead others in managing complex projects. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communications plus strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Credentials and Experience

Employee should have at least 5-10 years previous experience in an ad agency or similar work environment and should possess a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Graphic Design or a related field as well as updated knowledge of current and emerging design software, technologies, practices and strategies.

Work Environment

Employee will be issued a computer, monitor, e-mail, software and a workstation with internet access and a designated phone. The workplace is hybrid, including on-site and remote work.

Physical Demands

Employee may be asked to travel offsite to meet with clients, vendors, or media in order to complete project work or conduct educational workshops.
