Reports to Director, Client Services

This position is responsible for supporting the management of client accounts and coordinating, implementing and reporting on public outreach plans. The Account Coordinator is a member of the client services team and will provide general support to other team members, act as an in-house contact for clients and media, and manage other projects, as assigned. Day-to-day responsibilities will include writing and editing a variety of materials, conducting research, preparing materials, interfacing with clients and media sales representatives and responding to inquiries. 

Core Competencies

An ideal candidate will have strong writing and communications skills, the ability to think strategically and execute quickly, a positive and professional client-centric attitude, and working knowledge of public relations and media as it relates to advertising and marketing. Experience creating and managing databases, developing spreadsheets and managing digital files is beneficial. 

Experience

Two to five years of professional experience in traditional or digital media services, interactive or advertising agency, PR firm or a large corporation focusing on marketing communications, brand management and/or the positioning and promotion of strategic business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in crafting and executing on strategy to achieve clients’ strategic marketing goals.
  • Provides general support, as needed, to the client services team on a variety of projects.
  • Gathers and assembles background information and analyses as needed in development of interactive media plans, documents, and presentations.
  • Assists in creating video, slide shows or other visual presentations for meetings and business gatherings; helps coordinate and manage events. 
  • Ensures that all work has been proofread and completes the standard agency approval process before being reviewed by clients or turned over to suppliers.
  • Provides media planning research, including: contacting media outlets to obtain information; downloading and reviewing online media information; talking or meeting with media representatives one-on-one; obtaining industry-specific marketing data from trade associations, etc.
  • Orders art or other materials needed for distribution to the media. 
  • Ensures all interactive media projects proceed according to plan and on deadline, anticipating and troubleshooting potential problems before they occur.
  • Handles paperwork and maintains records of media planning and execution for client accounts, including approvals, copy, forms/documents, etc.
  • Maintains accurate records of all media purchases.
  • Oversees client media schedules and provides monthly recap of placement results for distribution to clients.
  • Compiles and interprets media data and statistics.
  • May be required to attend industry functions , client functions, product launches, company gatherings, press conferences or others, as requested.
